weekend update

I promised yesterday to tell you about my weekend.... It was really kind of boring...

Saturday morning Studboy showed up a 8:00 am. I was still in bed (from my earlier post you can see that I had a bit of a good time on Friday night). He was supposed to help me move a few things but instead he looked at porn while I laid in bed and watched TV. Kind of strange, I know.... After he left I took a shower and went to re-re caulk CP and Boobilicious' tub. As far as I know, it is fine now! The rest of the night was spent watching stupid things on TV and falling asleep by 9:30.

Get this, on Sunday, I went to a Mary Kay party! How hilarious is that??? Wanna know what's even funnier??? I spent $70! I was convinced by the Bulgarian Opera singing Mary Kay woman that I needed to use a different facial cleanser and moisturizer. It was crazy! I then headed to exit 82 for the night.

I took off Monday for a personal day. After I got some business taken care of, my Dad and I went to test drive some new cars. I'm debating between the new Jetta and Civic. I really like them both. I however will not be able to do anything until I sell the "ass truck." After lunch with the pill pushers, I was on my way back to the big city to watch my girls Z and McK for the night. They were really good, until bed time. McK fell asleep after an hour of crying. I tried rocking her, but nothing worked. Finally, she gave up and flung her head into her lap and after a couple minutes of the big "I can't catch my breath" sobs, fell asleep with her head in her lap. It looked rather uncomfortable, but didn't seem to bother her at all! Z was much better and laid on the couch with me until Red and Shorty returned. I then spent the next hour talking to Red about tons of things that I didn't want to know about her parents and mine.

Today it was back to work.... Tonight, I walked my 4 miles with Smash.... Now, I"m ready for bed!

Tomorrow's another day....

Sorry for the last couple of days... I've been busy.... And now I'm tired....

I promise tomorrow will be better.

Shug, we have a problem!!

It has come to my attention that there is some confusion over my references to 87. Please let me clarify…. 87 is NOT the number she falls in on my relationship list. I know, I seem cool and all, but really, I’m a big dumb ass! Truth be told, I didn’t even technically kiss someone for the first time until I was a sophomore in college (19 years old!). If I were actually that cool and brave, I would actually talk to the hot bass player instead of showing up at her gigs to drool…. Which brings me to another thing… If I can actually make sounds come out of my mouth when I’m around you, it generally means* that I like you as a friend but don’t find you attractive as a mate. Yes, I know it is Roxanne-ish (Cyrano de Bergerac and all), which is coincidentally from 1987, but it is a hard thing to change.

87 actually comes from her favorite year to reference (i.e. “Those look like a pair of jeans I wore in 1987.)

Soon, with the help of my friend J-man, I will have a cast of characters in a column on my website that will hopefully diminish further confusion.

* On rare occasions this isn’t the case (CP comes to mind). I knew Rabbit for 6 months before I could bring myself to have a conversation with her!

4:30 am

I've been up since 4:30 this morning.... I was awoken by what I thought was someone trying to come in my bedroom window. After I laid as still as possible for an hour, I got up to go to the bathroom and check it out... It turns out, a line fell off the side of my duplex. I assumed it was a power line and called the company to come fix it. When I got home tonight, I had a message on my answering machine letting me know that it was my telephone line. Tomorrow I will call the phone company.....

The message

I talked to my Mom tonight... She did not hear back from the doctor yet (they got 9 inches of snow today). However, she wanted to tell me there was a message on their answering machine for me. Apparently there is a private investigator calling everyone from my high school graduating class . This should be interesting....

A shitty end to a crappy day

Work sucked ass.... it is the end of the month and I had 3 loans that HAD to close today.... I don't mind it, but it sucks when other people want me to do their work!

It is supposed to snow 2-4 inches tonight, so it is going to take 4 hours* to get to work tomorrow.

I got my shower, had my Jello pop and was getting all comfy in bed when the phone rang....

It was my Mom. She had an MRI of her brain last Thursday and got the result today. Her tumor has grown and she has to go back to the doctor to see if she has to have an operation. The last time I went with her, he said that he did not want to do the operation if at all possible because it would be very difficult. Now I'm not so sure what's going to happen.... She of course keeps saying it will be fine and tries to make it sound like I shouldn't worry.... I of course act like I'm all cool and not freaking out so that she feels better..... Really, I am freaking out! I can act like a big bad ass, but when it comes down to it, this shit kills me! She is supposed to call tomorrow to let me know the date so I can take off work and go with her.....

*The longest it has taken me to get to work is 1 1/2 hours and that's when I lived about 20 minutes from work. Now, I live 35 minutes from work.... you do the math!

Why am I so tired?

So I didn't post last night because I was exhausted. I had been up until 2:30am Friday night then woke up at 8 am Saturday morning. I was asked to paint CP and Boobilicious' bathroom while they were gone, so I had to run to pick up paint and things. I primed and painted the entire room and re-caulked the bathtub. I worked non stop from noon till 9. By the time I was finished, I was exhausted! I didn't get to bed until 11:30 that night. And of course, I woke up at 3:00 am and watched TV for a hour or two.... I did finally fell back to sleep until 10.

Today, I bought a couple new games for PS2, Prom by Amy Ray and one of the Staind CDs (which is pretty damn good!). I had to re-re- caulk the tub and touch up some areas..... I then came home and went to the grocery store (Yeah, I got to see Priscilla again!) I make pasta salad, and bean salad for dinner..... I know it is really weird, but those are the two things I was hungry for! I cried while watching the L word. And now I've turned on my ocean, put on my Mr. Bubble pants and have crawled in between my flannels..... Good night everybody!

Let's go see the band play....

Tonight I went to see This is the News (featured in one of my earlier posts). Yeah, that's the band with the hot bass player, but believe it or not, that is not the only reason I like them! I actually have a CD, which I have loaded on my computer at work. (The lead singer gave me a T-shirt tonight... aren't I cool as hell now!!!)

Normally I wouldn't have gone tonight since CP and Boobilicious are out of town (The lead singer is CP's cousin....) Strange enough, I went tonight because of friend of mine saw the post on my website and thought it was cool that the band he does a website for was also playing at the same place.... To make a long story short, we went to see them together.

Three bands played tonight... This is the News, Ghost in Light and Everest. Everest was very..... hmmmm..... loud.... yes, that's it, they were loud. That's about all I have to say about them. This is the News was next. Every time I hear the first few notes of Faktion's Take it All Away on the radio, I think it is This is the News! Ghost in the Light (jman's {I told you you were going to have to make up your own double top secret name!} friends) was really good. The first band I've seen that sat the whole time they played. I'm not sure that makes any difference....

Anyway, it's after midnight and I've turned into the pumpkin I normally am.... I'm back to my real life......

Today is the Ides of March. Did anyone experience any abrupt changes??? Nothing happened here.... Maybe I should have done something to shake things up!

More medical issues.....

Walking from the garage to work today, I notice a tightness in my chest.... By the time I got to the door, it was to the point I was having a hard time breathing. This is the second time this week that I've had symptoms of an anxiety attack. I have no idea what's going on. Nothing in my life is any different than it was a week ago. It is very annoying! I guess if it continues, I'll have to have a conversation with my doctor......

Whole lotta nothing....

This weekend I got a new alarm clock... It's cool because it has nature sounds and I can plug my MP3 player in and use it as a speaker. I've been turning on the ocean sound every night before I get in the shower. I'm trying to make it seem like when I get out of the shower, I've traveled to the ocean. Not working so far, but a girl can hope can't she?

I walked with Smash after work tonight. It is getting easier to walk our 4 miles... we cut off 15 minutes tonight!!

sex dreams....

Can I just say that I had really hot sex dreams the other night! The only catch was they were about 87....

Exit 82 update...

The Birthday party was fun! My cousin and his wife had been at a Lamaz class all day on Saturday (one time deal.... that has to be a lot nicer than 1 hour a night...). He was told the night before that they were going to meet another couple for dinner after class so they had to take nicer clothes to change into. They changed in the parking lot of the movie theater... When he walked around the corner of the restaurant, he started shaking his head and rolling his eyes, and for a moment, I thought he was going to turn around and walk out. Dinner was wonderful (I had jumbo cheese raviolli). After dinner, a group of the younger people were going to go to a movie, but we couldn't find anything that seemed interesting that wasn't starting at 10:00 pm. Instead, we all met up at the birthday boy's house and played Dominos. I had never played before! I did very badly, but I had a great time!!

Sunday, I made the Bomber go shopping with me (It is a standing joke that everytime I'm home, I make him come shopping!). Like a good brother, he didn't put up a fight! After shopping I headed back home. About a half hour after I got in the door, my Mom was calling to tell me they had tornados in the area. I was so glad I was not there, however, I'd prefer to be there if I had to be in a situation where one was coming.... Home alone with a tornado coming is not something that I want to experience! Anyway, she said that they were all fine but some roofs had been torn off of businesses in the area and some other damage... After reading the online newspaper this afternoon, it sounds like it was a bit worse than what she had known about!

Off to exit 82 for the big party

My cousin's wife is throwing him a surprise 30th party.... I'm off for the night.... See ya'll around tomorrow!!

Remember back in December when I told you about my list and said they were not in any certain order? Well, I was wrong! Selma Hayek is the top of my list! I Tivoed the Today show yesterday and just watched her interview. She is awesome! Her new movie is Ask the Dust. I'm going to go see it as soon as it comes out in our area! The funny thing from the interview is she was asked about the 15 lbs she gained for the role and she commented about how they all just kind of fell in the right places! Oh yeah, she's right, they did fall in exactly the right places!!

Simple update....

The KT Tunstall concert was wonderful!!! She sounds awesome and she was funny as hell in between songs! The group I was with were in the front two rows. If she's coming to your area, I encourage you to go!

Tonight I went to dinner with CP and Boobilicious and the party people. The party people just got back from a cruise, so most of the conversation was details from their trip. It made me more excited about my upcoming vacation (10 weeks away!!)

Now I'm really tired, but can't seem to go to sleep....

Yeah, so I took a couple of days off....

This weekend I tried to do nothing.... That went by the wayside when the cleaning craze hit.... I cleaned almost everything.... I even scrubbed the stove! It was a little nutty...

Sunday I went to an Oscar party at CP and Boobilicious' house. There was way too much good bad for you food!! I tried to control myself....

Since Monday, I have been walking 3-4 miles per night with Smash. My shins are killing me.... I'm now walking like a 90 year old!

My Mom called tonight to let me know that she will be having a partial knee replacement next month. It's kind of funny because every time she's diagnosed with something, her response is "Oh, it will be fine... I'm fine...." Glaucoma.... "I'm fine....." Loss of vision.... "I'm fine..." Brain tumor.... "I'm fine..." She's a bit crazy, so I'm sure that helps!!

Conversation of the day….

Penguin was telling me that on the diet she and her husband are on, she is only allowed 11 almonds per day for a snack. Her husband however, is allowed 33 almonds per day. She went on to explain that the reasoning is that women retain more fat than men.

Shug: That sucks…. We are built exactly the same.
Penguin: Well except for the penis
Shug: Well yeah, except for the sexy parts, those are different…. Maybe you should get a penis.
Penguin: Well, people tell me I have balls….
Shug: Well then, I think you should get 22 almonds for that!

Art imitates life

Just a quick note to let you all know that I am alive... I've been avoiding the computer this weekend. I'll tell you all about that later..... Right now, I'm going to cry myself to sleep... I just finished watching this week's episode of the L word.... I relate to Bette so much right now it is very frightening....

Vacation plans

Today I officially decided to go with Smash this May to the Riviera Maya. She is going to be in a friend's wedding and wanted someone to go with. I'm actually her second choice, but what the hell....

I'm afraid of flying, so I'm sure the plane ride will be fun!! I'm going to have to make a visit to my doctor to get something to take before we leave... And worse than that, I have to find a swimming suit! This is going to be difficult!! But it's not like I can sit on the beach with my jeans on! I was also getting shit at work because a couple of the restaurants at the resort require the guests to be dressed up... When I asked what to wear they told me "A little sun dress." It has been almost 10 years since I've worn anything resembling a sun dress! So what do you think I can get away with???

So I know my last blog was not the best.... I've got a few thing running around in my head, but don't want to sound like an idiot when I blog about them, so I'm still trying to formulate them. Hopefully, I'll get it all figured out tonight....

I can tell you that today I've been so hungry I can't believe it!! I ate 3 meals today, but just a few minutes ago I had to eat something because it felt like I had not eaten all day. A few carrots later and I'm all better. I wish I knew what that was all about!!
