Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO what a ride! -- Source unknown

I finally did it!!

I made an appointment for guitar lessons. Soon I will be starting my rock band and heading out on the road!!! Do you think it is too lame for someone in their 30's to begin playing an instrument?

Yeah and I know it is midnight on a Friday night, but I'm getting "rested up" for tomorrow!!

Picture me doing a little happy dance!!!!

My Bears won, my Bears won, my Bears won!!!!!

Yeah, I realize they pulled it out of their asses, but they still won!

I'm a little upset with Tivo as I forgot that it doesn't pick up the entire game if you don't set it correctly, therefore I didn't actually get to see the part where they won.

I'm back....

I'm back from my trip to North Carolina..... Well actually I've been back since 6:00 pm Friday, but I've had a lot of laying around to do! Well OK, I did do a bit of cleaning and shopping too...

After a burger and a beer at the airport, I popped an Ativan and was off to the gate. Our flight wasn't so bad, however I was trying as hard as I could not to do any of the annoying things I tend to do when I'm nervous. It took a lot of control to keep my legs still as I know it annoys Ebeth. We were told by the guy that was meeting up with us that there would be a shuttle from the airport to our hotel, however that wasn't the case. Instead we got a ride with a very grouchy taxi driver. Ebeth had to set him straight when we got to the hotel! The hotel was very nice! The king size bed was covered in a down comforter with and about 20 feather pillows... (yeah, those suck if you don't have enough of them). Oh yeah and the hotel is supposed to be famous for these chocolate chip cookies you get a check in.... Fuckers had walnuts! Thanks for getting my hopes up!

Work was ok. Some of the people in the site we visited were extremely nice, some were nice and some were big gigantic bitches! I also got to visit where they house some of our big wigs, which was cool because I ran into a couple of guys that I worked with at another company. I was very surprised that they both remembered me. I have a tendency to remember everyone, so it didn't surprise me that I remembered them and where I knew them from.

And the flight home.... I woke up to the Today show's graphic of tornadoes in the mid west. The rest of the day, I was hoping that our flight would be cancelled due to the weather. Seeing that this wasn't going to be the case, I had three margaritas at the Tequileria with double Ativan chaser. I sat motionless for most of the flight, except for the turbulence, which took up about the last 30 minutes of our flight. We finally got back to Ebeth's where I picked up my truck and headed home. A stop off to pick up some dinner and home to crash! I was in bed by 10:00 pm and slept to 9:30 the next morning.

North Carolina bound....

I picked up my Ativan... I picked up the latest issue of Curve.... I've packed my bag.... Soon I'll be taking my shower and a sleeping pill and I'm out for the night. Tomorrow is going to be crazy! I hope the 2 hour flight goes quickly! E-beth has threatened not to sit next to me, especially if I begin rocking... This should be fun!

On a lighter note, I bought tickets to the Indigo Girls concert in October! I'm excited because I will be going with the only woman I would trust to paint me naked, Momma Wander!

The cat burglar

Yep, I officially have a cat burglar! A REAL cat burglar..... I came home from my parents house on Sunday to find that the cat my neighbor has been feeding pushed in my basement window and camped out there. Who knows how long he was there.... long enough to poop on my floor! I would be more upset if he wasn't so damn cute! He looks like a dreamsicle! I'm going to call him Feodor.

He will no longer be able to break in, as the repairman is coming tomorrow to fix the window!

The whole thing brought back memories of Bubba, the tom cat who used to come hang out at an apartment I used to live in. He would meow at the door until I let him in, eat a bit and take a nap on my bed. He would then meow at the door to be let back out. I miss Bubba!

Update....

So, last week I was on vacation. I was away from the computer for most of the week (my parents do not own a working one and I didn't feel like begging to use anyone else's) so I didn't get to update you on the happenings of my life. Since I've been home, I've been busy most of the time doing this and that.

I guess I could update you on what happened last week.

Originally I was wanting to go out of town, but that didn't work out, so I opted to go to my parents for the week to clean their garage. This was NOT a one day affair. Nope, it took the good part of 4 days and there was still stuff left to do. This may have been because I stopped and played with the soon to be 3 year old 50% of the time! He was my little buddy most of the week... following me around, helping me "wash" stuff and reminding me that we needed to go for walks! It was a lot of fun! I also got to spend time with his big brother. They are so much fun! Funny little story was when E hit W in the face. After sternly telling E that he was not to hit W, W admitted to first hitting E in the nuts. To that, I responded, "Well, I'd hit you in the face to if you hit me in the nuts!" The quick witted W responded back with "You don't have nuts!" On the 4th day of cleaning and seeing and end in sight, I insisted on moving a refrigerator that was in the garage to my brother's right then. Was I worried there was no one else around but my Mom who had just finally had her knee replacement (remember that all started back in April...)? Not a bit. Just pulled that sucker over to the end of my truck and lifted it in all by myself. (Yeah, I know I'm kind of silly!)

Friday was a day to have fun. Sissy, E and I went shopping. Bra shopping that is... Yeah, not fun for me!! We also went a few other places, but those were just for things we needed, nothing fun! After we came home, we went to look at a house that she and her husband were interested in. I must say, it could be an awesome place!! It is over 100 years old with all the original woodwork. I'd tell you were it was, but I don't want anyone to buy it before they have a chance to!

Saturday, I came back and headed to CP and Boobilicious' for a party with a bunch of musicians. I heard a lot of great music and got a bit drunk. Then, CP, another friend and I ventured off to the bar for a bit more drinking and a lot more dancing! Pretty sure I danced with about 10 different women! I was not fun company on the cab ride back to CP's!

Sunday the cold that had been sneaking up on me since Friday took over and I spent most of the day sleeping. I even missed seeing my beloved Bears kick the crap out of the Packers as I was asleep on my floor! (Is it strange that my bed got too annoying for me so I laid down on the floor and fell asleep?)

Monday, again no work.... Spent most of the day doing nothing and was invited to go to the Cards game that night. They won! Great game and awesome seats! Thanks Boobilicious!!

I've been working since Tuesday and I'm tired already!

Last night I went shopping and bought some new clothes for my upcoming business trip to NC. It was amazing because I can usually never find things I like and I found two pairs of pants and a shirt!

Tonight was a mac and cheese night and then a 15 mile ride on the indoor bike....

There, that's my life up to date! Hope you enjoy!

If you haven't already....

Aunt B. has one of the best posts I've read on religion. Go over and check it out!

Oh, this pisses me off....

Those damn rolling brief cases and backpacks. WTH America? Are we so lazy we can’t even carry around something that at the max would weigh about 20 pounds?

OK, I’ll give in with the backpacks because I know how heavy books can be! When I was in college, I had some monster books. My Art History book alone was the size of an 8x10 and 4 inches thick! And that wasn’t the only book in my bag the days I had the class.

But come on with the brief cases! Technology has made vast improvements to laptops… They market the new models specifically as “thin” and “lightweight” yet the “thinner” and “lighter weight” they get, the more ya see those damn brief cases!

F off and get the hell out of my way!!

vacation

Did ya'll miss me?? Probably not as much as I would like to think....

I was on vacation for a week, Yeah!!

However, I spent that vacation at exit 82 cleaning my parents garage. Yes, I know I'm boring! What can I say, I'm a good daughter!

I also got to hang out with E most of the time. I love my "little helper", he is so damn cute! The boy talks with his eyes.... It's also funny as hell to hear him quote lines from Austin Powers.... "Did you just soil yourself?" Pretty hilarious coming from the mouth of a boy who hasn't turned 3 yet!

I also added a few new songs to my list of favorites...

John Mayer
Come When I Call
Slow Dancing in a Burning Room
Stitched Up

Pink
Cuz I Can
