Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO what a ride! -- Source unknown

The lessons learned....

It's taken me almost a week to recover from last Friday....

No, not really! I'm just messing.

So, last Friday was the burlesque show. We were under the understanding that it started at 9:00.... It did not.... It actually started at 11:30. We spent the extra time doing Jell-O shots on the street and drinking $1 margaritas at the Mexican restaurant down the street. We then ventured back for the show... It was awesome! Although it was only about 20 minutes, it was crazy cool.... After the show, I even tried out the pole (no, it wasn't on stage....)

Lessons learned?

Don’t drink from the can of PBR that the bass player from the opening band is holding while he is flirting with you and your friend while standing in line for the bathroom.

Don’t end the night with a shot of tequila with said bass player as this leads to drunk dialing in the car on the way to the next bar….

Last night was a different story… I was a good girl, only having a few drinks, but looking like I was drinking a lot. It gave me the opportunity to have good visit with Guru. I hadn’t seen him in almost a year. While the rest of the girls were getting a bit crazy, we were chillin in the living room watching the Rams. The party ended early with a bit of a bang!

Lesson learned?

When getting a bunch of drunken lesbians together, DO NOT bring out your sex toys, as your friends may be tempted to run thru the house with them!

I'm soooo ready to go out tonight!!!!

A group of us are going to grab sushi and drinks and then it’s off to the burlesque show. I’ve wanted to see Gravity Plays Favorites for a couple of months now. Just this week I talked CCM and Ponce into going with me! My biking companion will also be joining us!

I’ll be sure to let ya’ll know how it goes!!!

was it worth it.....

Yes, yes it was a killer smile! But, that wasn't the best part of the ride. It was thrilling to know I could ride 30 miles and not die! I would be very tempted to say I would do it again, however next time I would be more prepared. I did go out and buy a helmet (a little funky multisport one), but did not purchase a gel seat. I must say that will definitely be the thing I buy before the next ride! Oh, and a pair of cushioned gloves... my hands kept falling asleep!

The conversation was wonderfully insightful. It is amazing what two women will talk about while riding 30 miles together. I think the conversation would have frightened a lot of the people I know.... sad, but true....

Yes, this was definitely a move out of your comfort zone day.....

a killer smile at the beginning of the road to self destruction???

This was the bargain to get me to go on a 33 mile bike ride this weekend.... I somehow doubt it will be worth it, but I'm attempting to expand my horizons.... or some of that other shit that people are always saying!

hmmmmm cherrylimedrop thingy is good!!!!!

Part 1 of the birthday was good....

Dinner at the King and I with CP, Boobilicious and CCW was fantastic!!

Martinis at Absolutely Goosed and Sub Zero with CCW were fabulous, especially that cherrylimedrop thingy.....

Tomorrow night will definitely be a non-driving experience!!!

we just got back from the hospital....

Shug - "Hi, what's going on...."
Shug's Mom - "Oh, we just got back from the hospital...."

So, do you see my issue with the beginning of this conversation???

No, "Oh well you Dad hasn't been feeling good for the last couple of days..." introduction, just straight to the "Oh we were at the hospital...." crap!

So, my Dad has Pneumonia. Apparently he had been to the doctor on Friday and they couldn't find anything wrong with him. But this morning when he called the doctor's office it was urgent enough for them to tell him to go directly to the hospital. (This all from the doctor's office who didn't diagnose me with Pneumonia until it had progressed to the stage of me not eating and sleeping for 22 hours a day for four days.)

Hmmmm.... ya think they would switch doctors???

just a little something to put a smile on your face....

You know what I love.... I love the fact that when purchasing schools supplies as Walgreen's tonight (while I was picking up a prescription) the girl behind the counter asked, "So, do you go to Lewis and Clark or Edwardsville?"..... My response.... "Actually, I graduated college, I'm just picking up school supplies for work so we can donate them to local schools."

Yes, it is nice to hear when you are 2 days away from turning 31 that you look young enough to still be going to college.....

OK, so I guess technically I could be (and should be) going to college, but I'm pretty sure she thought that I was her age (which couldn't have been more than 20).
